How To: A step by step guide to ‘Glitter Fade’ nails
Remember when glitter hairspray, roll-on glitter and glittery butterfly clips had the ability to make you feel like a million bucks? Those days may have passed but try as we might to squash our eight year old selves, our affinity with sparkly things will never truly subside. Surprisingly, a little sparkle can do a lot for your beauty look, it just comes down to how and where you wear it. Here, the clever cookies at I Scream Nails show us how to wear glitter like a grown up.
Step 1. File your nails to your chosen shape then wash and try your hands making sure cuticles are trimmed, smooth and moisturised. Apply one coat of ModelCo Nail Polish ‘Base Coat’. This will prep your nails for a longer-lasting colour.
Step 2. Apply two coats of ModelCo Nail Polish in ‘Lilac Haze’. The trick is to apply thin, even layers. Build up your colour as desired rather than painting on a thick layer – this is more likely to chip, smudge or peel. Make sure you leave enough drying time between each coat.
Step 3. Lightly brush ModelCo Nail Polish in ‘Razzle Dazzle’ from the middle of the nail up toward the tip. Repeat as required so the glitter is more dense at the tips of the nails.
Step 4. Make sure your colour is dry then finish off with a thin layer of ModelCo Nail Polish ‘Top Coat’. This will lock your colour in and smooth out any bumps or creases.
The result? Sophisticated glitter without a butterfly clip in sight.
